Champion C-4
BGSL intends to become one of the world's leading producers of biomass energy from dedicated energy crops. Dedicated energy crops involve a closed-loop process and they are grown specifically for their ability to generate clean, renewable energy. The biomass material from these crops is used as a replacement for fossil fuels in the electricity generation industry.
BGSL has developed and extensively field-tested its unique strain of dedicated energy crop called 'Champion C-4' which is ideally suited for this purpose. It is extremely fast growing and in conjunction with BGSL's advanced agronomy technologies, provides excellent biomass yields.
When starting up a new Champion C-4 plantation, all harvests for the first 3-4 months will be used for plantings to expand the crop establishment.
When burned in biomass power plants it can generate 25 times as much energy as the amount of fossil fuel used to produce it (25:1). In short, the crop has an extremely strong energy balance compared with the energy balance of corn ethanol, which is around 1:1, or sugarcane ethanol at 8:1. BGSL has patented the Champion C-4. |
