Management Team

The BGSL Management Team and Board of Directors are all highly qualified executives who are committed to achieving the company's goals and successfully operating and expanding its international businesses.
David Lunn, Chairman of the Board, did his undergraduate studies in the Bahamas and New York and received an MBA degree from the University of Miami. He has had an outstanding career with major international banks and trust companies where his primary responsibilities included marketing, client services, and new business development.

Mr. Lunn is a director of several private business investment firms, a mutual fund, and of Applied Sciences Technology Corporation (Astek).
David J. McConomy, CEO, CFO and Director, MBA, CA, is a graduate of Loyola College in Montreal; Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and is a Canadian Chartered Accountant. During his thirty five year career, he has been the Chief Financial Officer of a number of technology companies, including SHL Systemhouse Limited, which was acquired by EDS Corporation for $1.2 billion. In addition to his Assistant Professorship at the Queen's School of Business and his financial consulting activities, Mr. McConomy sits on the Board of Directors of two publicly traded companies in Canada.
Victor G. Pappas, Executive Vice President, has BS and MBA degrees and also completed a formal one year executive development program with The Standard Oil Co. (now BP America). He held diversified executive positions in the petroleum, nuclear, and electronics industries. Mr. Pappas served on the faculty of two major universities, and as an officer of several international corporations with extended assignments in UK and Europe. He is thoroughly experienced in human resources, international operations, industrial marketing, and corporate management, and has received national awards for his professional achievements. Since 1999, he has been President of Global Energy Company, LLC which develops and commercializes advanced renewable energy technologies.
John L. McNeil, VP of Engineering, Processing Systems and Director, is a physicist with an unusual flair for engineering development. He invented unique processes resulting in more than 20 patents, and has authored technical papers published in a variety of professional journals and popular science publications. Mr. McNeil has received a number of awards for his engineering achievements including one for managing and providing all engineering services for the world's first renewable fuel vehicle to enter and complete the grueling Le Mans 24 hour race.

Since 1991, Mr. McNeil has been Managing Director of Sittingbourne Analytical Laboratory – a highly regarded research and development organization in Kent, England.
Simon Gough, Director, VP & GM of Las Palmas Operations and Director, has a degree in Marine Engineering and extensive experience as Engineering Officer and Deck Officer aboard commercial vessels. He is highly skilled in dock operations, cargo handling, and all aspects of ocean transport.

Mr. Gough is well known in the Canary Islands where he has held a variety of managerial positions including the last five years' as General Manager of a major corporation. Simon is very skilled in manpower management.
Carlos Blanco Nagele, VP & Plantation Manager of Dedicated Energy Crops and Director, has degrees in business administration from the University of San Luis in Madrid and Hofstra University in New York. He is a bi-lingual international executive with more than 15 years experience in construction, marketing, and agricultural project management in Spain and South America.

For the past several years Mr. Nagele has been the senior operations executive of an agricultural corporation in Paraguay. His responsibilities included land acquisition, negotiations with governmental agencies, contractors, financial institutions, transportation and overall management of plantations used for developing and testing advanced agricultural systems and patented technologies to optimize yields of proprietary strains of dedicated energy crops.
